WHEN DID RPENA START, AND WHY?
The Richland Park Estates Homeowners' Association began its existence in 1980 (changing its name to Richland Park Estates Neighborhood Association in 2017) in an effort to block the construction of the apartment complex (presently named Estancia) just south of our subdivision (the developer said the land was reserved for a park). It's purpose being to “assure the beauty, safety and stability of the area and the surrounding community, to promote neighborliness and pride among the residents, and to form a base for representation in matters affecting Richland Park Estates”. The association was unsuccessful in blocking the apartment project, but it has had a very positive impact on many other things, including many safety and security measures/projects, beautification, and maintenance projects. There has been extensive involvement of many people in the neighborhood of both time and money. We ALL benefit greatly from the Association’s actions. We have a great community and need to continue the efforts that have been made in the past to keep this a distinguished neighborhood.
